MSI Mechanical System recently completed work on Tuscan Brand’s third restaurant at 581 Lafayette Road in Portsmouth, N.H.
The site is Tuscan Brand owner, Joe Faro’s third Restaurant & Market. MSI and Tuscan Brands have been working together for several years. In 2014, MSI completed HVAC work on Faro’s second Tuscan Kitchen Restaurant & Market in Burlington, Massachusetts and was recognized by ABC VT/NH with an Excellence in Construction award for the project.
The new restaurant in Portsmouth, N.H., officially opened its doors on Wednesday, March 1 for dining. The 10,000 sqft. restaurant is the site of the old Jerry Lewis movie theatre. The adjacent 6,500 sqft. Tuscan Market is scheduled to open soon.
“Joe designs beautiful restaurants and likes to keep a lot of the working space like the brick pizza oven and the walk-in wine room visible his guests,” said Brian Hooper, VP of MSI Mechanical Systems Inc. “All of our HVAC work was designed with this in mind. The humidity controlled wine room to the cooling system around the brick oven; engineers designed the HVAC units around how cold and how hot these specific areas of the restaurant will be. When you dine at any of the Tuscan Kitchen Restaurants, you won’t notice the HVAC system as they were designed to be part of the aesthetics and architecture.”
Tuscan Kitchen’s theme is fine Italian cuisine that consists of making everything on the menu from scratch.
