We found that giving checks for charity is a wonderful and great effort many companies manage to do. However, we wanted to go that next step. We contacted our local Habitat for Humanity and discovered that numerous residential buildings on Market Street in Lawrence, Massachusetts were devastated by fire in January, 2008. Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity staff, board of directors, volunteers, and supporters were committed to rebuilding these homes as quickly as possible. We wanted to help this local effort rebuild their Market Street homes by providing brand new HVAC systems and installation services for free for two of these homes. Larry Sharp, Habitat Executive Director, stated "Even in these tough economic times, MSI Mechanical Systems of Salem, NH, recognizes the great need in their community and should be applauded for their generous contribution". MSI presented Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity with a check representing the donation valued at $22,157.92. Brian Hooper, Vice President of MSI, stated "We all need to give back especially now during these tough economic times."
